Edessa Waterfalls
The only Greek city with waterfalls inside it. Green and cool even in August.
The drive
The Karanos falls 70 metres and you can walk behind the water. Around it, the waterfall park, the old watermill and the Kannavourgeio industrial site. Fifteen minutes further up are Nymfaio and the Pozar thermal baths if you want to make a full day of it.
What to watch out for
- Spring has the highest water volume
- Wear shoes with grip — the paths are slippery
- Park at Timenidon square, a five-minute walk away
